LEH: The administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh on Tuesday announced a significant hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) of employees by four percent.

An order to this effect was issued by Finance Department of the union territory administration.

“In pursuance to the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, OM No. 1/1/2023-E-II (B), dated 3 April, 2023, it is hereby ordered that the Dearness Allowance payable to the employees working in Union Territory of Ladakh, shall be enhanced from existing rate of 38% to 42% of the basic pay with effect from 1st January, 2023,” it said.
The is the second consecutive hike in the dearness allowance for Ladakh employees in last six months.
