LEH: A 4.3 magnitude earthquake struck the Union Territory of Ladakh on Tuesday, according to the National Center for Seismology (NCS).
The tremor was felt at 10.47 am on Tuesday morning.
So far, there is no report of any damage to property or human life.
The epicentre was 166 kilometres north of Leh town, while the depth was 105 kilometres.
“Earthquake of Magnitude: 4.3, Occurred on 28-03-2023, 10:47:02 IST, Lat: 35.64 & Long: 77.80, Depth: 105 Km ,Location: 166km N of Leh, Ladakh, India,” tweeted NCS.
This is the fourth major earthquake to have hit Ladakh in this month.
A strong 6.8 magnitude earthquake with the epicentre in Afghanistan shook Ladakh on March 21, with strong tremors felt across the union territory.
On March 17, strong tremors were felt in Kargil district, leading people into panic in the union territory after a 5.0 magnitude earthquake hit the area around 11:49 pm.
An earthquake of magnitude 3.5 on the Richter scale struck the Leh district on March 13, around 10.52 am.
