Vacant posts in Kargil higher secondary schools to be filled soon: CEC Feroz Khan

KARGIL: Reiterating the commitment to improve the infrastructure and enhance the quality of education in the district Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council Kargil, Feroz Ahmed Khan on Wednesday assured that the vacant posts in higher secondary schools will be filled at the earliest.

Noting that the education is the only way to improve the quality of life, the CEC said that the efforts are being made at the war footing to build the world-class infrastructure for schools in the Kargil district.

He expressed happiness over the increasing enrolment of students in government schools across Kargil district and said that the change was a result of better infrastructure and quality education.

“The council is working on war-footing to enhance the education sector both in terms of infrastructure and quality learning for our children of Kargil,” said the CEC.

Khan assured that the vacant posts in higher secondary schools of Kargil will be filled at the earliest.

“As many as 107 vacant posts at Higher Secondary level will be filled on contractual basis besides teaching and non-teaching staff for the newly upgraded schools under Samgara Shiksha which includes High Schools of Aati, Sapi and Chulichan would be posted soon,” said the CEC.

Earlier in the day, Khan distributed laptops to meritorious students under the Subsidy Component of LAHDC at an event here at Conference Hall, Baroo.

Executive Councilor, Syed Mehdi Fazily, Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, Chief Education Officer Kargil, Mushtaq Ahmad Wani, District Education Planning Officer Kargil, Muhammad Amin, Zonal Education Officers, officials of Education Department Kargil and students were present on the occasion.

Addressing the event, the CEC said considering the fact that education is an important sector, the initiative was taken under the Subsidy Component of LAHDC to enhance the capabilities of meritorious students.

“Suggestions are pouring in to provide laptops to BPL students and these will be assessed in the next Financial Year,” he said.

Khan further congratulated the meritorious students for getting the laptops and advised them to use the same for studying and focus on their studies with dedication.

Speaking on the occasion, DC Santosh Sukhadeve said that the digital gap for the betterment of students needs to be filled and with this motto, meritorious students have been identified.

DC Kargil expressed hope that students from underprivileged backgrounds will benefit from this scheme and advised them to take maximum benefits from the gadget they have received.

The Deputy Commissioner assured that grievances forwarded by the concerned department will be redressed in phase manner.

EC Syed Mehdi Fazily appreciated LAHDC and the department for taking such initiatives, which will help the students to learn through digital medium.

Pertinently, a total number of 42 laptops (under seven zones) were distributed among the meritorious students and the move has been widely appreciated.
