Leh, March 15: The Principal Secretary, Health and Medical Education, Forest, and Wildlife, Revenue and Planning Department, Dr. Pawan Kotwal chaired a meeting of all Administrative Secretaries in the presence of the Principal Secretary, Information Technology Department, Sanjeev Khirwar to conduct a daily review and assess the implementation of various ongoing works and discuss any challenges that needed to be addressed.
In the meeting, the Principal Secretary, Sanjeev Khirwar shared the deliberations including action points that had emerged at the recently held Chief Secretaries Conference presided by the Hon’ble Prime Minister. He emphasized the importance of industries participating in the accreditation of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and ranking, which would help improve the quality of education and skill development in the Union Territory.
The meeting discussed various issues, including the identification of deliverables for each department by every Administrative Secretary; follow-up action on issues discussed in the Chief Secretaries Conference, especially on collaboration between higher education and industry to bridge the gap between academia and industry requirements; proposed establishment of Skill India International center in the UT to provide advanced training and education to students; Women’s Empowerment, etc.
To ensure the effective implementation of the plans, the Principal Secretary asked all the Administrative Secretaries to submit an action taken report within a specified timeframe.
The meeting was attended by All Administrative Secretaries; HoD’s; Chief Engineers, and OSD to the Principal Secretary.
