DC Kupwara sanctions Rs. 9 lakh relief for paddy blast affected farmers of Karnah

KUPWARA, MARCH 12: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Dr. Doifode Sagar Dattatray sanctioned Rs. 9,18,024 as compensation for farmers who suffered losses to their agriculture crops due to rice blast disease attack during the month of October 2022.

As per an  order issued by Deputy Commissioner Kupwara,  a compensation of Rs 9,18,024 is sanctioned in favour of 721 affected farmers whose rice crops got damaged during the month of October 2022 in several villages of Tehsil Karnah.

Sub-committee assessed the losses of paddy crops and simultaneously the district level committee verified the assessment of losses and claims were placed before the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA). DDMA cleared the claims under SDRF norms on the basis of recommendations of the SOP committee.

Accordingly, sanction was accorded to release of funds  for disbursing among the affected farmers under the major head Relief on account of natural calamity under sub major head State Response Relief Fund(SDRF).
