RAJOURI, MARCH 09: Nehru Yuva Kendra Rajouri, held a District Level Mega Youth Parliament to celebrate India’s G20 Presidency. The event, with the theme of One Earth One Family One Future, aimed to raise awareness among the youth about the importance of India’s Presidency of G20, which represents 85% of the world economy.
Advocate Naseem Liaquat, Chairman of District Development Council Rajouri, was the Chief Guest at the event. The program included an informative session on the international year of Millets 2023, and a discussion on the Nasha Muket Bharat Abiyan campaign.
Vikrant Sharma, State Level Resource Person Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan Jammu Kashmir-Ladakh, highlighted the five themes of Y20 and their relevance for the youth of the nation. Various students and youth speakers presented their ideas on all the five themes of Y20.
The event included diverse cultural performances showcasing the rich and diverse cultural traditions of the district and union territory. The program concluded with a presentation cum valediction ceremony where all members of the cultural team were honoured and felicitated.
Nitin Hangloo, District Youth Officer NYK Rajouri, said that the department has been involving rural youth throughout the nation in nation-building activity through various programs and schemes since its inception in 1972.
The event was executed with the aim of empowering the youth of the district to engage in important global issues and promoting their participation in decision-making processes at various levels. The event was well-received and appreciated by the attendees and is expected to have a positive impact on the youth of the district.
