Srinagar, 28-11-2023: Additional Director General of Police Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar on Tuesday said the terrorist who killed Pandit Sanjay Sharma, has been killed in Awantipora gunfight. Sanjay Sharma belonged to minority community in Kashmir and was killed in a targeted killing as per the letter issued on social media by terrorist group TRF. It is pertinent to mention here that members from minority community is being targeted by terrorist groups like TRF in Kashmir since the abrogation of article 370.
Kashmir zone police, while quoting ADGP Kumar, said the terrorist killed in the gunfight has been identified as Aqib Mushtaq Bhat of Pulwama.
He said Aqib was an A category terrorist and was initially working with Hizbul Mujahideen, but was now working with TRF.
“Killed #terrorist identified as Aqib Mustaq Bhat of #Pulwama (A category). He initially worked for HM #terror outfit, nowadays he had been working with TRF. #Killer of late Sanjay Sharma #neutralised,” police tweeted.
