Leh: The Government is mulling to develop nutrition/greenhouse gardens in all Government run schools in the Union Territory of Ladakh.

The Poly carbonated greenhouses will be developed after thorough consideration of available space in each school. The concerned Education Department will identify potential schools for the establishment of such greenhouses.

Advisor Ladakh Umang Narula while chairing a meeting of the Steering-cum-Monitoring Committee for the implementation of the Prime Minister’s Overarching Scheme for Holistic Nutrition (PM POSHAN) in the Union Territory of Ladakh, held deliberations on developing nutrition gardens in schools.

Advisor Narula said, “This can be achieved as an activity in all schools in the available space, and residential schools can be provided with Poly Carbonated greenhouses.”

In this regard, Advisor Narula asked the Department to identify potential schools for the establishment of such greenhouses which will further assist in providing a wholesome meal to the children.
