Leh Dec 03 :- Dept of TTM organised a lecture on the topic ” Wildlife Tourism in Ladakh” by Founder Chairman, Wildlife Conservation and Birds Club of Ladakh, Mr. Lobzang Visuddha. Mr. Visuddha started his lecture with the commencent of tourism in Ladakh in 1974 to a detailed account on wildlife of Ladakh such as snow leopards, brown bears and birds and the areas where they are found. He focussed on the immense potential of wildlife tourism for economic development of Ladakh especially through snow leopard tourism .
However, he also stressed on the need for conservation of willdlife by capping tourist arrivals and motor vehicles. Dean Academic Affairs, Prof.Deskyong Namgyal also attended the programme and elaborated in detail on different topics such as reptiles, sparrows etc. Dean Research, Dr Sonam Joldan, welcomed the guest whereas Dean Students Welfare, Dr. Jigmat Dachen presented vote of thanks. A video on birds of Ladakh was also shown followed by a Q and A session. Tea and light refreshment was also served to all participants. The programme ended on a positive note and was convened by Dr. Sonam Angmo.
