UDHAMPUR, NOVEMVER 29: To spread the financial awareness among the college students, one day workshop on the topic “Financial literacy for women” was organized by NSS unit of GCW Udhampur in collaboration with Reserve Bank of India, Jammu.
Prof Ashni Devi, HOD Botany graced the event as Chief Guest.
In her address, she congratulated the NSS Unit of the college for conducting such awareness event. She further added that such events are need of the hour and students especially women students should have financial literacy alongside the regular academic knowledge.
Earlier, NSS Programme Officer, Sumita Rao briefed about the workshop and highlighted the importance of the workshop in spreading awareness on financial literacy and career opportunities in RBI.
Rohit Kashyap, Manager Financial Inclusion and Development Department (FIDD) RBI Jammu and Smitha Manon, Assistant Manager Human Resource Management Department (HRMD), RBI Jammu were the resource persons in the workshop.
They acquainted the students about general financial terminologies, basics of banking, saving habits, investments, insurances. They also briefed the students about various Govt. of India schemes, different digital banking modes, frauds; modus operandi and preventions, grievance redressal mechanism for customers through banking Ombudsman.
As many as 115 students of the college attended the workshop very patiently.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by NSS volunteer, Radhika Sharma. Formal vote of thanks was presented by Prof Sanjay Kumar NSS PO.
