Leh: On the occasion of Samvidhan Divas, the Ladakh administration in its commitment to strengthen and support a robust democracy at the grassroot level, doubled the total renumeration of the councillors of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Councils Leh and Kargil from the existing Rs. 60,000/- to Rs 1,20,000/-
This includes an additional monthly Constituency Allowance of Rs. 40,000/-, Office/Telephone Allowance of Rs 10,000/- and Medical Allowance of Rs. 10,000/-
Earlier, a committee under the Chairmanship of the Principal Secretary, Revenue and Planning Department, Dr. Pawan Kotwal was set up on this matter. The Ladakh administration issued notification in this regard after the recommendations of this committee.
The salary and allowances of Chairman/CEC and ECs shall continue to be governed in terms of Govt. Order No.23 of LAD of 2017 dated 27.12.2017 issued by the then Ladakh Affairs Department, J&K.
