Police nabs drug peddler with 29gms of Heroin

KATHUA, 18 NOV : Continuing its #War On Drugs drive to contain the spread of Narcotics Drugs & Psychotropic Substances within the district, Kathua Police under the guidance of  SSP Kathua Sh. R C Kotwal-JKPS today recovered/seized approx. 29 grams of Heroin(Chitta) like narcotics, 01 Electronic Weighing Machine, 01 Sharp Edge Weapon ( Knife) alongwith cash amount of Rs. 1,01880/- near Talain Bridge at Gujroo Nagrota area, 01 drug peddler arrested  & seized the narcotics, cash, Electronic Weighing machine and sharp edge weapon(knife) on spot.

On 18.11.2022  a  Police team  led by Insp. Sunil Kumar SHO P/S Billawar  under the supervision of SDPO Billawar Sh. Arvind Kumar JKPS  during Patrolling/checking duty in its jurisdictional area at Talain Bridge near Gujroo Nagrota area  apprehended one   notorious drug peddler namely Bhag Hussain @bhagu S/o Shuma Ali R/o Garh Samna Banj Tehsi Majalta District Udhampur. During checking approx. 29 grams of Heroin (Chitta) like narcotics, 01 electronic weighing machine, 01 sharp edge weapon(knife) as well as cash amount of Rs. 1,01880/- was  also recovered from his illegal possession.

During the arrest accused person Bagh Hussain @baghu attacked upon the police team with a sharp edge knife in which two police personnel got injured. Thereafter all the recovered  narcotics, 01 weighing machine,01 sharp edge weapon (knife) alongwith cash amount of Rs. 1,01880/- were seized and one person was  arrested on spot. On this an instant case vide FIR No. 168/2022 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Billawar and further investigation is underway.
