Srinagar, Nov 17 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday claimed to have recovered a huge quantity of contraband substances in village Ukhoo Kakapora in Pulwama and said that efforts are on to nab the accused person.
A police spokesman in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that Police Station Kakapora received a specific information through reliable sources that one person namely Shamim Ahmad Allaie, son of Abdul Gani Allaie of Ukhoo Kakapora has indulged in drug peddling and hoarded a huge quantity of narcotic substance in his residential house.
“On receipt of this information, a Police party of PS Kakapora alongwith Magistrate raided the specific location. During the search, 8.5kgs of bang patri was recovered from the said residential house. However, the accused person was not present at home and efforts are on to nab the culprit,” police said.
Accordingly, a case under FIR number 76/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Kakapora and further investigation has been initiated.
Meanwhile, police urged people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. “Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt with as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace,” police said
