Leh, Aug 16: Cultural and NSS Committee of Government Degree College Nubra, organised a week-long event under the theme of ‘Har Gar Tiranga’ as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
During the week-long event, the college organised various activities, including flag hoisting, painting of Tiranga, poster-making, speech-making and a singing competition among other activities.
A 21:14 feet long Tiranga was painted on the stone pebbles in a collective effort by the principal, faculty members and students.
On August 15, Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at the campus.
In the poster-making competition, Sushmita Roka of the 5th semester secured 1st position, Assiya Bano of the 1st semester secured 2nd position and Stanzin Standin of the 1st semester secured 3rd position. In the speech-making competition, Padma Dolma of 3rd semester secured 1st position, Kaneez Fatima of 3rd semester secured 2nd position and Stanzin Yangdol of 5th semester secured 3rd position.
Similarly, in the singing competition, Zenab Khaton of 3rd semester bagged 1st position, Murtaza Ali of 2nd semester bagged 2nd position, and Padma Stanzin of 1st semester bagged 3rd position.
The week-long event was successful with the active participation of all students, teaching and non-teaching staff of GDC college.
