Jammu Aug 05 :-  Social Activist S Balvinder Singh along with number of former National players while addressing the media persons urged u[on the UT administration to initiate CBI probe for misappropriation of funds provided by Sports council for promotion of Sports  and for violating  new election policy approved by non other than Hon’ble LG Sh Manoj Sinha.

Giving detail of previous representation Mr Singh informed that on 30.06.2019 that Chief Sports officer wrote to Ranjit Kalra vide Letter No. SC/79/2986 to enquire into the allegation levelled by former National players . Mr Kalra submitted the report to Mr Waheed Parrey Secretary Sports Council, but  it is surprising that neither the said report is made  public nor any action ios initiated against the office bearers of Hockey J&K till date.

It is quite evident that sports council under pressure from the then Health Minister Ch Lal Singh  hush up the cases and  pending enquiry against office bearer of Hockey J&K, to protect Sh Narinder Batra’s  henchman S Rajinder Singh Kuku the then treasurer of Hockey J&K and remained on the post for more than 15 years..

Besides this we again submitted representation,  & quoted previous complaints lying pending, to Sh Farooq Khan the then Hon’ble Adviser to LG JKUT and discussed in detail all the corruption charges against Mr Rajinder Singh Kuku Sr Vice President Hockey J&K. Mr Khan though forwarded the representation to Sports Council also but at the same time showed his helplessness to take action against  S Rajinder Singh Kuku & S G.S Bakshi Secretary Hockey J&K who are henchman of  Mr Narinder Batra, the most  influential persons.

Our contention is further substantiated with the fact that CBI have  registered  FIR in corruption charges against Mr Narinder Batra (President FIH, President IOL) S Rajinder Singh the then President Hockey India, presently Sr Vice President Hockey J&K , on the direction of Hon’ble High Court of Delhi, and  Mr Batra was compelled to resign from all the posts held by him.

So we urged upon the Hon’ble LG that Sports Council J&K  instead of de-affiliating Hockey J&K where FIR  has been registered  against his Sr Vice President by  the CBI, President of Hockey J&K has been nominated as member in J&K Sports Council  vide Govt order dated 23.06.2022, without  enquiring into the sexual harassment allegation made against him by female players and without considering his contribution to the game.

So we all urge upon Hon’ble LG Sh Manoj Sinha sahib to intervene personally and immediately take action   against S Rajinder Singh, Sr Vice President Hockey J&K,  who has also figured in the FIR of  CBI  No.RC0032022A0044 dated: 14.07.202   by sacking him and also referred its enquiry to CBI, terminate the membership being granted to Rajeev Sharma in J&K Sports Council . We also request the J&K Sports Council to disband Hockey J&K and constitute Adhoc body to run the day to day affairs of Hockey J&K till the out come of final verdict of CBI enquiry.

Prominent former players who were present in the Press Conference are S Iqbal Singh, S Manjeet Singh, S Harbans Singh, S Ravinder Singh Bitta, S Janak Singh, S Rajinder Singh Sudan, S Rajinder Singh, S Jaswinder Singh Kuku.
