Srinagar, Aug 5 :- Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday blamed Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) for a grenade attack that left a non local dead and two others wounded, as a senior officer claimed that markets remaining open on the third anniversary of abrogation of Article 370 is a huge achievement for people in the Valley .

“Two Lashkar-e-Taiba bike-borne terrorists carried out the grenade attack on the non local quilt weavers in Pulwama. We have identified those involved in the attack. They will soon be either arrested or killed,” Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Vijay Kumar, told reporters in Srinagar.

Kumar said ‘hybrid’ militancy was no longer a challenge. “A year ago, the (hybrid) terrorist was challenge, but now it is not. We identify them at the earliest and arrest or neutralize them,” he said.

Kumar said abrogation of Article 370 has put an end to the frequent strikes, closure of schools and colleges.

“The funeral of terrorists used to be attended by thousands of people. That has stopped. The glorification of terrorists has also ended.

“There used to be stone pelting near encounter sites in which collateral damage used to take place. This all has ended.

“People should understand the motives of Pakistan and help police and administration to ensure peace prevails here,” Kumar said.

Kumar said that the markets are open on the third anniversary of abrogation of Article 370. “It is an achievement for the public,” he said.
