Jammu, Aug 4 :- Police arrested a narcotics smuggler with heroin and a huge amount of cash while an accomplice was killed in a road accident in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said on Thursday.
Additional Director General of Police (Jammu Zone) Mukesh Singh said a patrolling team from Udhampur noticed two persons moving in a suspicious manner near Gole Mela petrol pump on Wednesday night.
“They tried to flee and ran towards the main road and one of them was knocked down by an unidentified vehicle,” said Singh. The seriously injured man was identified as Mukhtiar Ahmed, a resident of Kupwara who succumbed to his injuries.
But Jagtar Singh of Taran Taran in Punjab was nabbed and 250 grams of heroin and Rs 1,91,34,030 in cash was recovered from him.
