Kulgam, July 30: Taking governance at the door steps of people and to get first hand appraisal of issues and demands of people, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kulgam, Showkat Ahmad Rather today visited Aarigatnoo village where he presided over at a grievance redressal camp to listen to the issues/ grievance and demands of people for redressal.
During the camp, people from the area demanded the establishment of Veterinary centre in the village.
People from Chambagund and Aarigatnoo also demanded extension of concrete flood protection bund from Chambagund to Kutabal to avert flood threat to the area.They also demanded repairs and development of Dal laad Kutabal.
The locals also put forth various other demands of public importance.
All the issues, grievances and demands were listened to patiently by the officers present on the occasion.
Pertinent to mention that the villages Aarigatnoo and Chambagund got washed away in 2014 devastating floods and post floods Rural Development Department constructed a concrete flood protection bund near Kutabal and extension of this flood protection bund was today demanded by the people.
The ADC on the occasion announced an additional amount of Rs. 20 lac for extension and development of flood protection on river Veshow to thwart flood threat.
