Srinagar Jul 29 :- As the Amarnath Yatra progressed, Chadi Mubarak Swami Amarnath, led by Mahant Dipendra Giri, was taken to the historic Shankaracharya Temple at Gopadri Hills, Srinagar, on Shravan Amavasya. Amidst Vedic chanting and the sound of conch shells, prayers were offered for happiness and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir. In the midst of the Shivamay atmosphere, other people apart from the sages and saints participated in the stick worship.
Amarnath Yatra is being affected due to bad weather for the last few days. On Thursday, due to the closure of the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway near Ramban, the batch sent from the base camp Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu had to be stopped at Chandrakot, Ramban. The yatra is also being affected due to rain from the traditional Baltal and Pahalgam tracks.
Sadhus worshiped for more than two hours with holy mace at the Shankaracharya temple. This temple was earlier also known as Jyeshteshwar or Jyotswara Temple, but after Adi Shankaracharya visited this temple, it is now known as Shankaracharya Temple.
Chadi Mubarak will be taken to the Sharika Bhavani temple at Hari Parvat, Srinagar on July 29. After this, on July 31, the rituals for the installation of sticks will be performed at Amreshwar Temple of Chadi Mubarak, Dashnami Akhara, Srinagar. On the auspicious occasion of Nag Panchami on 2nd August, stick worship will be done in Srinagar Dashnami Akhara.
After resting night at Pahalgam on 7th and 8th August, it will reach Chandanbari on 9th August, Sheshnag on 10th August and Panchtarni on 11th August. On Shravan Purnima, Chadi Mubarak will see Himling in the holy cave. Meanwhile, a batch of 1602 pilgrims were sent from base camp Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu to Kashmir.
Had to stop at Chandrakot due to the closure of the highway. In this, 596 devotees including 429 men, 162 women, 5 children were sent to Baltal. Similarly, for Pahalgam, out of 1006 devotees, 786 men, 177 women, 39 sadhus and 4 sadhvis were involved.(AGENCIES)
