Jammu Jul 21 :- A bike rally that began from New Delhi to the Kargil War Memorial in Dras (Ladakh) reached Udhampur on Wednesday to mark 23 years of the Indian Army’s victory over Pakistan in the 1999 Kargil War and to celebrate the Amrit Festival of Independence.
The rally was taken out from the National War Memorial, New Delhi on 18th July by the Chief of Army Staff. It was flagged off by General BS Raju. After resting at Pathankot, Zojila Pass Axis Rally team reached Udhampur via Kathua, Samba, Jammu, Nagrota.
The objective of the rally is to spread the message of patriotism and boost the morale of the entire nation by highlighting the display of grit and determination of the brave soldiers deployed in the service of the nation.
Motorcycle rally from Turtuk to Dras
A Vijay Motorcycle Rally was also taken out on the occasion of 23rd Kargil Vijay Diwas to remember the martyrs of Kargil War. Army spokesman said that the rally which started from Turtuk on 20th July will end on 26th July at Kargil War Memorial, Drass. The motorcyclists will cover a total distance of 481 kms through the difficult terrain of Ladakh region in the memory of our martyr heroes.
Program from 24 in War Memorial
The program will be organized from July 24 to 26 at the Kargil War Memorial in Dras. It will be attended by a large number of dignitaries from the army, civil administration, gallantry award winners of the struggle and the families of the martyrs. (Agencies)
