Jammu Jul 19 :- The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday arrested Tehsildar Shalteng and Naib Tehsildar Batmalu for taking bribe. The ACB has arrested Tehsildar Shalteng (Srinagar) Mohammad Younis Bangru and Naib Tehsildar Batmalu Ghulam Rasool Hajam for taking bribe of Rs 2 lakh, an official said.

He had demanded five lakh rupees in return for allowing him to start the business. Two lakh rupees recovered were of the first installment. The official said that the ACB had received a written complaint. It alleged that both the officials were demanding a bribe of Rs 5 lakh for allowing the business to open in Rampur area of Chhatabal, Srinagar.
ACB constitutes trap team
It was decided to pay the money in installments. 2 lakh was asked to be paid as the first installment. After this ACB formed the trap team. The team caught the Tehsildar Shulteng red-handed taking a bribe of two lakhs from the complainant as the first installment of five lakhs.
The bribe amount was recovered from the possession
The bribe amount was recovered from the possession of the accused Naib Tehsildar Batmalu in the presence of an independent witness. Later the Tehsildar was also arrested by the ACB team. The team also searched the Tehsil office Shalteng and the residences of the accused.
