Udhampur, July 18: To discuss the arrangements for the smooth Celebration of Independence Day 2022 at the District headquarter, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Krittika Jyotsna chaired a meeting of district officers of line departments, here at Conference Hall, DC Complex.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Dr Vinod Kumar; Additional District Development Commissioner, Anu Behl; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mohd Syed Khan;  Chief Planning Officer,  Mudassir Yaqoob Zargar and other senior officers from Civil Administration, Police and CRPF were present in the meeting.

Detailed discussions were held on seating arrangement, barricading, security, traffic regulation, drinking water and power supply, sanitation, first-aid, PAS and deployment of fire-tenders etc.

It was decided in the meeting that the main function would be organized in the premises of Government Degree College Boys, where the Chief Guest would unfurl the National flag.

The function would start with the Shehnai Vadan in the morning by the Information department. It was decided in the meeting that the rehearsal for cultural programme would start from 10th of August 2022.

The DC directed the Xens PHE & PDD to ensure seating, barricading and drinking water arrangements, besides uninterrupted power supply at the function venue. The Chief Executive Officer, Municipality was asked to maintain cleanliness in the town as well as at the venue.

Regarding First aid arrangements, the Chief Medical Officer was directed to ensure the deployment of one ambulance along with a team of Doctors and necessary medicine till the conclusion of function. District Police and Traffic Police would ensure security and traffic management, the DC added.

Regarding the Transport arrangements for the public, the DC directed ARTO to arrange sufficient number of buses for the people coming for the Independence Day celebrations. The DC added that the celebration will be held amid strict adherence of COVID 19 SOPs. The DC advised all the participants to keep in view the safety and security of all and follow the COVID-19 SOPs issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare GOI from time to time.

Reception Committee, Illumination Committee, etc were constituted for the specific tasks.
