Leh, May 13: Councillor, Cha, Stanzin Lakpa, called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, RK Mathur, at Raj Niwas today.
Councillor Cha raised several demands for the development of his constituency, including starting the work for the construction of Shingku La; initialising the tendering process for the construction of the civil airport in Zanskar; establishing a mini-garage in Zanskar; constructing a yard at Mechanical Department; making the operation theatre at Community Health Centre in Padum functional; provision of home-delivery of LPG cylinders, especially to villages/hamlets in Lungnak valley; regularisation of casual labour and daily wagers; making Pawan Hans helicopter service used for emergency airlifting free for patients; increment in wages of watchmen and gardeners (Mali) of the Forest Department, etc.
Councillor Cha also requested for engagement of unemployed veterinary graduates on an outsourcing basis for the benefit of the livestock in Zanskar.
He also requested to allow Public Works Department (PWD) in Zanskar to function as Special Sub-Division in Zanskar after the separation of the R&B Sub-Division to enable the smooth conduct of Jal Jeevan Mission works in Zanskar.
