BJP holds review meeting for PMGKAY, lauds Modi govt decision to extend the scheme

Jammu March 31 :- J&K BJP holds review meeting for Prime Minister Gareeb Kalyan Ann Yojana (PMGKAY) at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.

A meeting was chaired by Convenor PMGKAY BJP J&K Vikram Randhawa (former MLC) who was also accompanied by Co-Convenors Shrey Sethi and Hari Om Sharma.

Rajesh Gupta, Sunil Dutt, Ranjeet Singh, Charanjeet Singh, Ram Dass, Subash Anand, Jyoti Prakash, Pawan Bakshi, Pranjee Pandit, BL Bhan, Sanjay Tickoo, Banarsi Dass, Sanjay Bakshi, Madan Pandey, Pramjeet Singh Raina and others participated in the meeting.

Vikram Randhawa while addressing in the meeting, lauded Prime Minister led Union government’s decision for extending Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) for another six months till September 2022. He said that the phase-5 of PMGKAY scheme was to end in March 2022.  PMGKAY is a welfare scheme announced by the government in March 2020 in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic which has proved to be a bane for the needy and the poor families which is benefitting around 80 crore households of the nation. Under the extended PMGKAY, each beneficiary will get additional 5 kg free ration per person per month in addition to the normal quota of foodgrains under the NFSA, he said

Randhawa further said that decision shows the commitment of the Modi government for the welfare of the poor people in the trouble torn Covid time. He prompted the entire district Convenors and co Convenors of PMGKAY to keep a close vigil on the smooth working of the scheme so that no one sleeps hungry. He asked the party activists to keep track of the needy persons in the society and make sure that they get the due benefit of the scheme.
