Leh, Mar 31: The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, RK Mathur, visited Naljorling in Chuchot and met His Eminence (HE) Palga Rinpoche and members of Choekyong Palga Charitable Institute, Ladakh (CPCIL).
The people of Chuchot village and members of CPCIL accorded a warm welcome to LG Mathur.
HE Palga Rinpoche thanked LG Mathur for accepting the invitation to visit Naljorling. He shared his vision of establishing a monastery, retreat center, park, old age home, a center for teaching handicrafts and handloom, etc. He emphasised the need for mud-brick and stone construction using vernacular architecture to reduce the carbon footprint.
HE Palga Rinpoche stressed on the importance of love, compassion, awareness and wisdom among people and communal harmony. He also highlighted the importance of maintaining values and essence despite the changing times.
LG Mathur emphasised the importance of change management and informed about the continuous efforts of the Administration to protect the environment and culture of the region.
