Rajouri, March 30: Continuing its efforts to reach out to the public at the grassroots level and to listen to their grievances at their doorsteps, District Administration Rajouri organised a series of weekly Block Divas meetings here today.

District Development Commissioner, Vikas Kundal convened a public outreach camp at Manjakote to listen to the grievances of the locals. The event witnessed an overwhelming response of people from adjoining areas.

A number of issues were put forth by sarpanches, panches and locals during the camp demanding augmentation of power supply and Medicare facilities, provision of adequate drinking water supply,   school up-gradation, restoration of damaged roads etc. The Public also demanded opening of a trauma Hospital at Manjakote, besides release of payments for works done.

The District Social welfare Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer and District Animal Husbandry Officer made the public aware about different schemes being implemented by their Departments for socio-economic development of rural areas. The Public was also made aware about the development projects completed and under construction in the Manjakote area.

Speaking on the occasion, the DDC informed the public about different online services and the steps taken by the district administration to improve health, education, Power and Water Supply and other services in the district.

He said that the main purpose of Weekly Block divas meetings was to redress the grievances of the people at their doorsteps.  ”

The DDC also informed that all the 80 Patwar Khaanas have been made functional in the district with the directions to the patwaris to sit in the office as per the prescribed schedule.

The DDC assured the public that all their genuine demands would be redressed in a time bound manner.  He also informed the public that a special program Gram Swaraj month will start from April 1, 2022 in a bid to take the governance to the doorsteps of the people. He appealed to the public to participate in the month-long program and avail the benefits.

During the programme, 153 PSPs, 12 ALCs and 170 border certificates were also issued.
