Ganderbal, March 26: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Ganderbal today organised a Legal Awareness programme on NALSA scheme for workers in the unorganized sector, at Manasbal Park, under the guidance of Secretary DLSA Ganderbal.
On the occasion, Secretary DLSA Ganderbal, Tabasum, Panel Lawyers, Officers of Labour Department, Members of Mahila Shakti Kendra Ganderbal, Centre Manager of Project Money Wise CFL Centre, officials of DLSA Ganderbal, Law Students from Central University of Kashmir, PLVs, Unoganised workers and General Public were present.
During the programme Adv Zulufkar Alam, Panel Lawyer of DLSA, Labour Inspector from Labour Department, Officials from Mahila Shakti Kendra Ganderbal and Centre Manager of Project Money Wise CFL Centre, spoke on the occasion.
They discussed the NALSA scheme for unorganized workers and briefed about the schemes being offered by the Labour department and other departments for workers in unorganized sectors. They shared information regarding the registration process, annual charges/fees and how these schemes provide social security, social and educational development for unorganized workers.
Speaking on occasion, the Labour Inspector said that if the laborers are registered under Building and other Construction Workers Welfare Board they can pay renewal fee of Rs. 120 per annum. He said that these workers are working on a daily basis with different contractors but they need to register themselves to avail all the benefits.
He also pressed on the fact that the labourers need to apply and get the Job Cards, Ayushman Bharat cards, E-Shram cards etc.
Panel lawyer highlighted that the DLSA Ganderbal also provides free lawyer to those whose annual income is below three lakh prescribed in the Legal Services Authorities Act in section 12.
During the programme they made participants aware about Shakher, Shikara, Tejaswini Scheme, Sukaniya Samroyadi Yojana, PMSBY, JJBY, PMABY and various other schemes.
Secretary DLSA Ganderbal interacted with the unorganized workers and other stakeholders during the programme and discussed various issues of unorganized workers.
The locals of the community prayed that such kind of programmes be conducted frequently so that the people who are illiterate and unaware about various government schemes are made aware of the existing government schemes running for the welfare of the people.
