Rajouri, March 11: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kumar today chaired a meeting of the concerned departments to review the progress on NABARD funded projects in the district.

While reviewing the progress on the projects, the DDC sought a detailed report regarding the physical and financial progress on the projects being executed by different executing agencies in the district.

Taking stock of the progress of the PWD (R&B) in Rajouri subdivision, it was informed that out of 21 schemes, the work on 07 was complete, while 14 are in progress and would be completed by the end of June 2022.

Similarly, out of 14 old schemes in Nowshera subdivision, the work on as many as 7 schemes is complete and rest nearing completion. It was further informed that tender allotment for 05 new schemes is under progress.

Regarding the Jal Shakti Department, the concerned Officer informed that work on 13 schemes including 08 in Rajouri and 05 in Nowshera subdivisions is underway. He further said that out of Rs 626 crore allocated budget, an expenditure of Rs 334 crore has been incurred till date. He also informed that work on 04 schemes including Water supply schemes Sewa Jaghir, Madopur, Seri Sayal and Manglidhar would be completed by mid June 2022.

The DDC directed the concerned authorities to resolve the issues and remove bottlenecks if any on priority so that execution of the projects was not delayed.

He also impressed upon the officers to work with added zeal and dedication to achieve the targets set for the current financial year.
