DC Rajouri discusses rate fixation of minor minerals at Multi Departmental DLTFC meet

Rajouri, Feb 26: To discuss the fixation of rate of minor minerals and measures to check illegal mining in the district and other issues concerning the functioning of mining department, a meeting of Multi Departmental District Level Task Force Committee (DLTFC) was held today here under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal.

During the meeting, threadbare discussion was held with regard to the fixation of rates of sand, Nallah bajri, Nallah boulders etc, issues of illegal mining and other issues pertaining to the mining department.

After detailed deliberations, the rates were fixed and the DC directed the concerned officers to implement the rates of minor minerals at source level in letter and spirit so that common people and the stakeholders do not face the brunt of exorbitant rates.

He emphasized upon the concerned agencies to strengthen the mechanism of checking illegal excavation of sand and other minerals from river beds.

The DC also reviewed the functioning of the mining departments and urged the officer to work with utmost dedication and conduct field visits to check illegal mining.

The DC also directed the other members of the Multi Departmental DLTFC to extend full cooperation to the Mining department in checking the illegal mining.

The meeting was attended by ADC, Sachin Dev Singh; ASP, Vivek Shekhar; DMO, Mohd Naseeb Bajran; District Social Conservation officer, AD Fisheries, EXN IFC and other members of the committee.
