Leh, Feb 26: Chairman, Block Development Council (BDC), Panamik, Lobzang Gyatso; in-charge, General Secretary, Congress Committee Nubra sub-division, Sonam Stobdan and entrepreneur Tsewang Norboo from Stok called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, RK Mathur, at Raj Niwas.
Chairman, BDC Panamik, Lobzang Gyatso spoke on various issues in Panamik block, viz. the need to construct a motorable tunnel at Khardung-la for year-round accessibility to Nubra sub-division, widening and black-topping of the Yarma Gonbo road to Burma for better accessibility, the opening of Medical Sub-Centre at Nungstet and Aranu for treatment of patients, sanctioning of Animal Aid Centre at Khemi and construction of motorable bridges on the Aranu-Sasoma and Nungstet-Tongstet roads, etc.
In-charge, general secretary, Congress Committee Nubra, Sonam Stobdan, briefed LG Mathur on various issues in Nubra sub-division, including the issuance of notification from the Administration regarding the opening of the Siachen Base Camp for tourists, repair of micro-hydel projects and providing uninterrupted power supply to the people of Nubra, early completion of the construction of double-lane road at Siachen Base Camp and Turtuk Thang, filling up of vacant posts in different government departments at the earliest and opening of small scale industries.
Tsewang Norboo from Stok spoke about his plans to construct a cinema hall at Solar Colony in Choglamsar. He sought assistance to enable him to operationalise his planned cinema hall at the earliest.
