Kargil, February 26, 2022: Department of Cooperatives Kargil today distributed more than 30 quintals of fresh vegetables and fruits each at Shakar Chiktan and Drass sub-divisions.
The distribution was done on the directions of Deputy Commissioner and CEO LAHDC, Kargil, Santosh Sukhadeve in presence of SDMs of Shakar Chiktan and Drass and the concerned officers of Cooperatives Department as briefed by the Deputy Registrar Cooperatives (DRC) Departments Kargil, Dr Zakir Hussain.
The DRC Kargil said that the process is carried to avail fresh fruits and vegetables to the people of the subdivisions, where availability of fresh vegetables and fruits remain scarce due to the closure of the Ladakh-Srinagar national highway.
He further added that it is the mandate of the department to provide essential goods to all the rural areas of Kargil district, especially in the winter months.
