Kupwara, February 25: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the preparations regarding Intensified Pulse Polio Programme (IPPP) scheduled on 27th of this month in the district.

On the occasion, a detailed PowerPoint presentation was given in the meeting and it was informed that the district has 140017 population of children below 5 year age to be immunized under Pulse Polio programme which has a requirement of 8401 vials.

It was also informed that 738 Immunization Booths will be established across the district for which 2952 workers including 970 ASHA and 640 AWW have been deployed to carry out the immunization programme smoothly.

Speaking at the occasion, the DC stressed upon the officers to ensure cent percent coverage of the target population of the children below the 5 year age group under the Pulse Polio programme. He directed them to spread proper awareness among the field workers regarding maintenance of hygiene and discipline while implementing the programme.

Reviewing the progress of Covid-19 vaccination, the DC appreciated the doctors and concerned stakeholders for registering cent percent 1st dose vaccination for 15-17 year age group in the district. He directed the concerned medical officers to speed up the process of inoculating booster dose and ensure its cent percent coverage.

The DC directed the CMO and concerned Medical Officers to spread awareness through media among the people for getting Covid vaccine and booster dose.

Chief Medical Officer Kupwara, DIO, concerned Medical Officers and CDPOs, besides, Senior Police Officers attended the meeting.
