Jammu Feb 23 :- In a historic event GMC, Jammu has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) Mumbai for technical & academic collaboration in presence of Hon.LG JKUT Sh.Manoj Sinha ji at SMGS Hospital Jammu.
The MoU was signed by Dr.Shashi Sudan Sharma Principal & Dean GMC and Dr.Rajendra Badwe Director, TMC Mumbai. Dr.Ashish Gulia Deputy Director TMC represented TMC.
The Hon’ble LG expressed happiness on signing of the MoU and said that this will help in collaboration & training of manpower in a hassle free manner in the best interest of cancer patients of JKUT. He said that TMC is a premier institute in cancer management and this tie up shall definitely help GMC Jammu to make the State Cancer Institute as an Institute of excellence.
This MOU with TMC Mumbai will offer technical support to GMC, Jammu in developing the State Cancer Institute into a State of the art Tertiary Cancer Care Facility, offer training and technical expertise to the Faculty & Paramedical Staff of GMC, Jammu at TMC, Mumbai and other TMC facilities in the country. It will also assist in establishment of population based cancer registry at GMC, Jammu etc.
The MoU was signed in presence of advisor Sh. R.R. Bhatnagar, Sh. Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor JMC, Chief Secretary Sh. Arun Kumar Mehta , Additional Chief Secretary HME Sh. Vivek Bhardwaj, Dr. Shakti Gupta Director AIIMS and all the HoD’s of Health & Medical Education Deptt.
