Reasi Feb 22 :- Indian Army conducted an interactive skill development and proficiency training for Village Defence Committee (VDC) members at Makhidhar, Reasi District. VDC is a manifestation of the “Will of People” to actively participate in the efforts to thwart any threat to the national security and integrity. Towards this end, the VDC members displayed their skills in weapon handling, which were further refined and consolidated during the training. Maintenance of weapons and practice firing were also conducted for the benefit of the trainees.
The members were further, briefed on the changed modalities and tactics employed by Anti-National Elements and the importance of the VDC to ensure sustained peace and prosperity in the region. The training while reinforcing the bonds shared by the Indian Army and the Awaam, motivated the latter towards voluntary participation in security of their home and hearth.
