Jammu, Feb 22:- Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation Chander Mohan Gupta alongwith Advocate Purnima Sharma Deputy Mayor, Sh. Raj Kumar Chairman Health & Sanitation Committee, Sh. Hardeep Singh Mangotia Chairman Swachh Bharat Committee, Sh. Ajay Gupta Chairman Social Justice committee JMC, Madam Shama Akhtar Councillor of ward no. 71 today laid foundation stone of construction of a Parvesh dawar (Swagatam Gate) of Jammu City near Sidhra Bridge of ward no. 71.

Mr Firdous Ahmed Qazi  Executive Engineer, Mr. Amit Sharma Assistant Executive Engineer and other supervisory staff of project division JMC, Dr Susheel Sharma Municipal Veterinary Officer, S. Harvinder Singh, Chief Transport Officer alongwith his supervisory staff of Transport section of JMC and other prominent inhabitants of Sidhra & its adjoining localities were also remained present there during the occasion.

Addressing to Media persons, Mayor told that after the sincere efforts of concerned councilor & project division of JMC, the foundation stone of construction of this much needed Entry gate also known as Heritage gate has been laid today within an allotted amount of Rs 50.00 lacs only and it will be completed within six months period.

He further told that Pilgrims of Shree Mata Vaishno Devi JI shrine, Kol Kandoli Mandir Nagrota as well as tourists for Srinagar, Patnitop etc passes through this route in large numbers on daily basis and they faces much hardships in finding the exact way of Jammu city .

He added that this “Swagatam gate” will be a unique type reflecting the rich heritage & traditional values, cultures of Jammu city and the people coming from other parts of India will also have easy approach to visit at various religious & tourist spots of Jammu city.

Later Mayor alongwith his team and concerned officers of JMC also conducted an extensive tour of Nagrota and took stock of the ongoing development works in terms of construction of modern cattle pond at vacant land at Seri Khurd Nagrota.

Mayor was apprised by the engineers of project division accompanying with him that the work of construction of modern cattle shed and other allied activities of 1st phase will be completed in the month of March 2022 which will provide a great relief for the veterinary section of JMC to keep the stray animals lifted from various wards of the city on routine basis at this modern cattle pound having sufficient space.
