Jammu Feb 17 :- Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Women Wing State Vice President Mrs Bimla Luthra today underscored the exemplary role of the party in socio-political empowerment and economic emancipation of women over the decades with impetus on their literacy and self sustenance.
Addressing the Women Wing workers at Chohala Village, Mrs Luthra recalled the bold initiative of the National Conference in women reservation in grass roots level democratic institutions and 50 per cent seats in medical colleges, saying these paved way for carving out a big role for them in different spheres. Due to focus on female literacy, time has come when girls are excelling in academics in a big way.
“Given opportunity, the J&K women have proven to be second to none and in fact they are proving their worth by putting in best in their chosen fields”, Mrs Luthra said, adding that National Conference has pioneered various measures for the upliftment of this important segment of society over the years.
She exhorted the women to play their important role in shaping the destiny of Jammu and Kashmir and steering it to peace, progress and development.
Accompanied by Mrs Kirti and Mrs Komal, who organised the meeting, the Ex – MLA Bimla Luthra urged the cadre to intensify mass outreach in their areas and work for seeking redressal to their problems.
Among others, Bharti, Jyoti , Savita , Rani and Tikli were also present on the occasion.
