Jammu Feb 17 :- With an aim to educate the youth of Banihal region, Indian Army organised a Talk on Drug awareness with an aim to sensitize about drug abuse and its implications an health and family. Talk highlighted main aspects of causes of drug abuse, measures to be taken to reduce the drug addiction and effect of drug abuse on family members.
NGOs were also include to spread the message across the local populace about the ill effects of drug abuse and remedial measures to be taken to overcome the vicious cycle of drug addiction. Aspects of a sober individual becoming an addict and the modes utilized by drug traffickers to push youth into addiction was also intimated. The audience appreciated the efforts of Indian Army for enlightening them about the drug menace. During the event, social distancing and other precautionary measures with respect to COVID-19 were duly observed.
