Jammu Feb 16 :- Jammu & Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party led by party President Ravinder Raina celebrated Shree Guru Ravidass Jayanti at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.

Programme was organized by J&K BJP SC Morcha which was led by J&K BJP SC Morcha Prabhari Jaidev Rajwal and J&K BJP SC Morcha President Prof. Gharu Ram Bhagat. DDC Chairperson Bharat Bhushan, J&K BJP Spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan, former MLA Neelam Langeh and other senior party leaders also remembered and paid respect to the great pioneer saint of Bhakti period.

BJP SC Morcha also celebrated the occasion in all the Mandals across the region.

Ravinder Raina, while remembering Shree Guru Ravidass ji threw light on his teachings and life. He said that Guru ji was against all the evils prevailing in that time. He said that Shree Guru Ravidas was born in Seer Govardhanpur village, Uttar Pradesh in an underprivileged family. An advocate of human rights, Shree Guru Ravidas was a progressive thinker who spread the message of equality through his poems and teachings based on spirituality.

Prof. Gharu Ram said that the works of great saint are included in holy books, chiefly, Shree Guru Granth Sahib. We must imbibe the spirit of Samrasta in our lives and take pledge on this great day to curb every type of social evil in our society, he added.

DDC Chairperson Bharat Bhushan, Morcha Prabhari Jaidev Rajwal, J&K BJP Spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan, former MLA Neelam Langeh and others also spoke on the occasion.

Rakesh Sangral, Mohinder Bhagat, Sharda, Nidhi, ML Rao, Adarsh Jathiar, ML Menia, Yashpaul Shivgotra, Bishan Das, Nagarmal, Rajkumar, FC Bhagat, Ashwani, Raghunandan, Bahur Lal, Seema Devi, RD Thappa and others were amongst the prominent who were present in the programme.
