Jammu, Feb 16: Extending his greetings to engineers, designers and executioners of the Northern Railways and its agencies including IRCON, HCC and AFCONS for breakthrough into India’s longest rail tunnel connecting Katra with Banihal, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K Executive Member Raman Suri today said that this is an engineering marvel that will give Kashmir Valley an all-weather connectivity.

In his statement issued here, Raman Suri said that this is historic in nature and never in last seventy years, Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed such massive infrastructural development wherein roads, tunnels, bridges, railway lines, airports, highways, road-side villages and village roads are giving this Union Territory a world-class connectivity to boost its economy and to also provide our soldiers an easy access to borders, where they are guarding us valiantly.

Raman Suri said that engineers, designers and executioners of the Indian Railways deserve all appreciation for making J&K blink on the international railways map for its achievements including building the highest railway bridge and now the longest tunnel T-49 of 12.758 km connecting Sumber and Arpinchala station on the Katra-Banihal section of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail link project. He said, building such a massive infrastructure in the Himalayan ranges could become possible only by the will of Union Government led by Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who ensured that all national projects of importance are executed well within the speculated time period.

Raman Suri also appreciated the Union Minister in PMO Dr Jitendra Singh for consistently pursuing and monitoring such projects of importance in Jammu and Kashmir. He added that Jammu and Kashmir during last seventy years stayed neglected, ignored and underdeveloped just because past leaders wanted the erstwhile state to remain like that to suit their vested interests.

Now those days are over and with the projects like building of Zojila tunnel, work on which is also going on at full throttle, J&K is going to come at par with any other developed state or UT in the country. Political parties like NC, Congress and PDP never wanted this kind of development here, which is why unemployment was increasing and young boys and girls were being pushed towards anti-national and anti-social activities. Now, BJP under the dynamic leadership of Narendra Modi is changing the fate of youth of Jammu and Kashmir, wherein massive investment is going to create jobs and build a new J&K.
