ADDC Anantnag inspects Vigilance Awareness Fortnight proceedings

Anantnag, February 14: The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Anantnag, Bashir Ahmad today visited various Panchayat Halqas in Achabal and Shangus blocks including Khundroo, Uttersoo A and Uttersoo B.

On the occasion, the ADDC took part in the discussions and informed the general public regarding the purpose of holding the fortnight. He said that dissemination of information regarding various welfare measures is necessary to inculcate transparency and accountability in the system.

He said the program directly involves the public to bring forth their issues in the implementation of welfare measures so that appropriate redressal steps can be taken.

The ADDC interacted with the PRIs attending the sessions and impressed upon them their role in ensuring objective discussions are held and observations intimated to block level committees. He also held discussions with the members of Village level vigilance committees and emphasized that they must ensure fair and unbiased information is shared on the platform.

The feedback received from the general public was very encouraging. The general public appreciated the District Administration for the initiative and assured full cooperation in ensuring that food security is extended to all deserving households in their Panchayat Halqas.

The Vigilance Awareness fortnight will continue till the 21st of February. More than 100 panchayats have been covered under the initiative till now.

The ADDC on the occasion was accompanied by Asst. Commissioner Panchayat, Anantnag.
