Kupwara, February 12: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din today visited Khumriyal area and inaugurated Hybrid Seed Training programme under Shyma Prasad Mukherjee Rurban Cluster Mission (SPMRCM).
Addressing the farmers, the DC said that the Government is committed to uplift the farmer community by providing various incentives and benefits under different welfare schemes to increase their income generation capability. He appealed to the farmers to come forward and enroll themselves under various Kissan welfare schemes and increase their productivity and income.
Chief Agriculture Officer, Nazir Ahmad Wani in his address said that the aim of organizing the training programme is to provide awareness to the farmers regarding various scientific techniques and methods of increasing their productivity at minimal costs. He urged upon the farmers to take maximum benefit under the training programme which will enable them to boost their livelihood.
Meanwhile, experts from the Agriculture department provided thorough awareness to the farmers regarding scientific techniques of enhancing the yield including double cropping.
DDC Member Hyhama, Haji Sona-ullah Khan also spoke at the occasion.
On the occasion, different hybrid seeds, crates and other benefits were distributed among the farmers.
Later, the DC heard grievances of various people and issued on spot directions to the officers for redressal of the genuine issues of the people.
Among others, District Agriculture Officer, BDO, Tehsildar, besides, PRIs and farmers attended the programme.
