EARTH NEWS SERVICE Jammu, Dec 16 |15: Mandeep Kaur, IAS, Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation today took a detailed review of functioning of engineering wing of Jammu Municipal Corporation. Those who participated in the meeting were R.S. Jamwal, KAS, Joint Commissioner (Adm), Kushal Chand, Joint Commissioner (Works), Executive Engineer (T) (C) & (E), along with AEEs & JEs At the outset of the meeting, the Commissioner sought a detailed report of the ongoing developments works within the areas of Jammu Municipal Corporation from Joint Commissioner (W) who apprised the Commissioner about the ongoing developmental works. He also inform in that there is the tremendous response in the tendering process launched by the JMC in transparent manner. The delegation of contractor association was also appreciated the initiative taken by the JMC for inviting tender on e-tendering mode. The Commissioner also appealed the contractor to finish the ongoing works in speedy manner so that new projects can be taken into hand in near future. During the course of meeting Commissioner discussed various ongoing works and also issued directions to engineering wing for expediting the civil & electric works and completes the same within the stipulated time frame. She further stressed for maintaining the quality of work and asked the concerned that there should be no use of sub-standard material if anybody found doing so shall be viewed seriously and responsibility shall be fixed on the part of the concerned officer/official. The Commissioner also requested the general public to extend their valuable co-operation to Jammu Municipal Corporation so that developmental activities can be undertaken within the jurisdiction of JMC smoothly without any hindrances.
