Anantnag, January 29: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr Piyush Singla today paid a surprise visit to various public offices in the district, here.
Dr Singla inspected the office of Asst Commissioner Dev, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, District Social Welfare Officer and Asst. Regional Transport Officer.
A total of 25 employees were found unauthorizedly absent from their duties. The DC directed that a one day salary cut with the proceeds to be deposited in District Red Cross Society and disciplinary action as applicable under rules be initiated against the erring employees.
It is in place to mention that the DC has been laying emphasis on punctuality in public offices to ensure effective service delivery and has issued various circulars in this regard from time to time.
The DC was accompanied by ADC Anantnag and other officials.
