Rajouri, January 05: Extending banking and financial services to rural areas of Rajouri district, the Jammu and Kashmir Bank today opened its branch at Ati.
District Development Commissioner, Vikas Kundal inaugurated the new JK Bank Branch.
The inaugural function, held with due adherence to COVID-19 appropriate protocols, witnessed gathering of valuable customers, prominent locals, senior citizens, traders and other residents of the area.
While congratulating the Bank for opening the branches in unbanked areas, the DDC appreciated the J&K Bank for playing a major role in the economic development of the UT.
Enlightening the locals about the role of the banks for the socio-economic development of an area, the DDC said that the sole objective of this expansion is to make finance and other banking services easy, accessible and affordable for the people in general and locals in particular.
He also directed the bank authorities to lay emphasis on the government sponsored schemes to provide employment opportunities to the rural youth besides extending digital products and services so that people at large can avail maximum benefits from its services.
Listing various schemes of the bank, the DDC urged the people to avail the benefit of the bank’s products, services that have been tailored to meet their financial and banking requirements.
The locals appreciated the District Administration for the establishment of a much needed branch in the area.
