Udhampur December 29: A weeklong Annual Winter Special Camp on the theme Covid Appropriate Behaviour and Orientation about the OMICRON variant was inaugurated today here at Government College for Women(GCW) Udhampur.
The Camp was organized by the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of GCW Udhampur.
Padma Shri Professor Shiv Nirmohi was the chief guest, while Principal of the College Prof. Minu Mahajan was the guest of honor on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Nirmohi appreciated the initiative taken by the NSS Unit to spread awareness among the young generation as well as general masses regarding COVID-19 virus (new variant OMICRON). He hoped that the GCW Udhampur would conduct more such programmes in future. He also advised the participants to follow all guidelines of the health Department regarding covid 19 Pandemic.
Earlier, Principal of the college, Prof. Minu Mahajan threw light on the workshop and stressed upon the participants to adopt COVID appropriate behaviour to break the transmission chain.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by HoD Philosophy (NSS Programme Officer) Prof. Sanjay Kumar. The Vote of thanks was delivered by HoD Sanskrit Prof. Sanjiv Upadhyay.
Head of Department Urdu Dr. Mool Raj, Head of Department Dogri, Prof. Rekha Sharma, other senior faculty members and large numbers of volunteers were also present in the camp.
