Kupwara, December 29: The Vice Chairman, District Development Council (VC-DDC) Kupwara, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir today inspected NTPHC Maidanpora of Lolab sub division and took stock of the functioning of the hospital.
He was accompanied by Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kupwara, Dr. Mehraj-u-din; BMO Sogam and other Health officers.
On the occasion, the Vice Chairman inspected the functioning of the hospital and heard about the issues of the hospital from Health staff and local people. The issues raised by the people include dilapidated hospital building; non-availability of sufficient doctors and technical staff, scarcity of power supply etc.
The Vice Chairman heard the issues patiently and telephonically discussed the same with higher ups of the Health department.
He said that the Health sector is among the top priorities of the UT Government and health facilities have been upgraded in all nooks and corners of the J&K. He assured the people that the issues related to the NTPHC have been taken up with the higher ups and they have shown a good gesture in resolving them in a time bound manner.
He further reassured them of every possible support for upliftment of the Health Centre which has a huge population to cater.
