Kupwara, December 25: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Imam Din today visited Hatmullah and Babarnag areas of Kupwara block and inspected ongoing screening camps under Anemia Mokht Bharat (AMB) at Health and Welness Centre (H&WC) Hatmullah and Sub Centre Bubernag.
The camps were conducted by ICDS Project Kupwara in collaboration with BMO Kupwara to trace out Anemia children for further medical and nutrition intervention in these areas.
On the occasion, necessary health checkups of a large number of children of the 1-5 year age group were carried out to check deficiencies like Anemia, if any. Free medicines including iron tablets were also distributed among the children to boost their immunity.
Parents along with children were seen in long queues who were waiting to get health checkup and immunization of their wards.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner appreciated the efforts of the Health department and ICDS for organizing such camps. He directed them to continue conducting such camps in future also to monitor and boost the health of the local children which will benefit them.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner met several public delegations who apprised him about their daily issues of life.
The DC heard them patiently and directed the concerned Officers for proper redressal of the public issues.
