Kupwara, December 23: As part of Good Governance Week, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din today convened a public hearing camp, here to redress the grievances on spot.
The Assistant Commissioner Revenue, District Information Officer, Assistant Director planning and other concerned officers were present on the occasion.
As many as 80 applicants, from different areas of the district including Kandi, Shartwari, Nagri, Karihama and Nutnoosa registered their grievances before the DC.
The DC heard all the applicants patiently and gave on spot directions to the concerned officers to immediately resolve the grievances of the people on war footing basis. He also sanctioned cash relief of Rs.10000 to various poor and needy applicants.
Imam Din on the occasion exhorted the people to take interest in skill development initiatives and establish self employment units to earn their livelihood. He also stressed upon them not to rely on little relief items.
The DC directed ACD Kupwara to look into cases of PMAY. He also directed all officers to look into all cases on priority which were forwarded during public hearing camps on the celebration of Good Governance Week.
