DC Kupwara asks officers to accelerate developmental tempo

Kupwara, December 23: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din today convened a series of meetings with the concerned officers to review the pace of progress under Rural Development, Health, Education and Engineering sector including R&B, PDD and PHE.

Addressing the meetings, the DC stressed upon the officers to accelerate the developmental tempo in the district and redouble their efforts for achieving cent percent targets within the stipulated time frame. He asked them to ensure that 70 percent expenditure should be registered by the end of this month.

The DC took sector wise review and the concerned officers briefed him about their achievements in their respective jurisdictions.

It was informed that 481 different works under Rural Development are under execution, out of which 88 have been completed while, rest of the works are at different stages of completion.

It was also informed that under Area Development Fund (ADF), 336 works have been approved under DDC Fund, 159 works under BDC Fund and 1295 works are approved under PRI Area Development Fund in the district.

The DC asked concerned officers to ensure completion of all works taken under the Area Development Fund vis-à-vis CAPEX Budget.

In a separate meeting, the DC reviewed the preparedness in view of peak winter season and stressed upon concerned officers to keep men and machinery available to meet out any exigencies during the winter season.

Reviewing the essential commodities, the DC was informed that sufficient stock of ration and other essential commodities have been already dumped in border areas including Karnah, Keran and Machill of the district which will cater the demands of the area till June next year.
