Rajouri, December 20: The implementation of various scholarship schemes for ST, OBC, physically Handicap and Economically Backward Classes was today reviewed by Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, here at a meeting.
The meeting was attended by Chief Education Officer, Abdul Majid; the Principals of Government Degree Colleges, District Social Welfare Officer, Tehsildars, besides other concerned officers.
The DC sought a detailed report from the HODs about the disbursement of pre and post-matric scholarships being implemented by the Social Welfare and Education department for ST, SC, OBC and Pahari speaking students.
He asked the concerned officer to take concrete measures to cover all eligible beneficiaries and ensure that no eligible student in the district is left out.
He also directed the Chief Education Officer to clear the pendency in schools within three days, while the Principals of GDCs were asked to meet the target within two days.
He also stressed on spreading mass awareness about the welfare schemes being implemented by the Social Welfare Department through social media at village and block level.
